Loss mitigation, is the value you are willing to lose on your goal to the take profit target. Remember the equity protection level in percent is still on, so if you want to use this feature, make the equity protection percent very low. Like 10%. I was just playing with some ideas, use it at your own risk, and use it on a demo account first. I am open to any suggested changes, but it is experimental at the moment. I made these changes for Ross so he could play a little.

Hi David,
Thank you for the update on this, One question the default -300 Loss mitigation setting, what exactly does this do.

Hi Ross,
Here it is, give it a try. Sorry for the late response but I am up to my eyeballs in work.

Yes David - that is exactly correct. It might be simpler to let the user input a set amount - say I have a 1000 account and want to quit after I make $100 or even $10 - I think I sometimes I get caught swinging for the fences when it might be better to settle for base hits! Another thing I wondered about - was say I have a 1000 account, but I only want the EA to trade as if the account was $500 - this would probably need to be programmed into the EA itself and I am not sure if there would be any benefit to this - but it might be an additional margin protection - what do you think? Maybe I am getting old but it seems that account preservation is key these days!
Thanks again for everything you do here...
Ross

Hi Ross,
Yes that is possible. Let me see if I understand you correctly. You want the EA to monitor your equity, and when it reaches some +value say $100, you want to halt all trading EA's and close all the open orders? I can change the program to do that, if I am understanding you correctly.
Regards,
David

Subject: [MT_E and I] Account SentryDavid,
Would it be possible to have the Account Sentry turn the trading EA off when a certain profit is reached?
For example, the EA turns on at the time you specify and when it reaches a profit target it turns off instead of turning off at the time specified time inside the EA?
Not sure if this would help - but it might be worth trying...
Thanks for all do do here...

Sandy,
Yes, that is a good workaround, I have used the EA this way in the past. Just remember there is no 24th hour, the times are 0 to 23 equals 00:00:00 to 23:59:59. So, you can trade the Asian 22 to 23 (22:00 to 23:59:59) than trade the Euro 0 to 6 (00:00:00 to 6:59:59). Again these times are adjusted to your server time offset to GMT. IBFX servers are on GMT so there is no offset. Other brokers have 1, 2 hours +/- or more. Actually in my times, I include the first 2 hours of the Aussie session and all of the Asian session minus the last hour that overlaps with the first hour of the London session.

I hate to make more work for you. I have a work around that seems
to work. I have the Asian session turned off. I looked at the code
and it does I check I didn't understand based on the hours entered
for the Asian session. Then I set the European session for 13 to
23. And the US session for 7 to 12 (or whatever hours I decide to
trade). If I wanted to trade the Asian session then I'd just put 0
in the start hour for the US session. It seems to work.
Thanks,
Sandy

Re: [MT_E and I] Account Sentry
Hi David,
I'm all for improvements and advancements
I'm still trying to wrap my brain around how the two values differ.
Let me see if I have this right.
$10,000 account level
equity protection 50%
Profit target $100.00
loss mitigation 0 (If I don't want to use it ?)
Scenario 2
$10,000 account level
Equity Protection 10%
Profit Target $100.00
Loss Mitigation -$300
So, the mitigation value needs to be smaller than the equity protection value, Correct ?
Does AS then halt all orders if we hit mitigation or does it continue to trade until it hits Equity protection stop?
Thank you for your efforts... it is appreciated.
Ted
